“Cedar & Coil” – Hooped Earrings with Haida Cedar Roses
Where medicine meets metalwork, these bold hoop earrings celebrate intergenerational artistry, land-based beauty, and community care. Each pair features hand-wrapped wire hoops created by a Haida mother (that’s me), woven with strength and precision. Nestled at the center are delicate cedar roses, lovingly crafted by local Haida youth, Nova—each petal holding the spirit of the forest and the teachings of tradition.
Suspended on coiled spiral wire backs, these earrings are more than just adornment—they’re collaboration, healing, and a wearable circle of story. Black and silver wire weaves recall the textures of regalia and tide lines, while the spiral symbolizes protection, resilience, and return.
